I am interested in the social nature of color. My aim is to paint out of the color in such a way as to let the very colors chosen suggest the spiritualized objective form. That is, form that arises outside of us as an “objective”, that is then experienced in a spiritualized form, i.e. non-material, within the depths of the soul. I work to paint objectively out of color, to “listen” into the color so that the form develops out of the social nature of the color. This demands that the decisions I make be out of truth and not out of taste. I look for Kandinsky’s “inner necessity” to be found in the objective truth of each color. This “inner necessity” determines the social nature of each color with respect to another.
